What is a Profile?

Profiles define how users access objects and data, and what they can do within Elements. Each user on Elements must have a Profile assigned to their user, and this assignment is done within Setup by System Administrators. To access the User Menu, you will go to Setup > Administration > Users. Here you can view the existing Profiles and the Users with their Profiles assigned.

By default, there are a number of Profiles that come with your Elements platform. The three main Profiles that we use here at Elements are: System Administrator, Salentica Elements Power User, and Salentica Elements Restricted User. Each of these can be adjusted, but it is a best practice to clone the existing Profile and make updates to the new versions of the standard profiles.
